Iniciativa Climática de México realizará evento preCOP28 para analizar acciones ante emergencia climática mundial

Ciudad de México, 1 de noviembre de 2023. Iniciativa Climática de México (ICM) realizará los próximos 14 y 15 de noviembre, el evento preCOP28 “Rumbo a la COP28. Encuentro para la Acción Climática 2023: de la ambición a la implementación”.
Por tercera vez en México, especialistas nacionales e internacionales se reunirán en México previo a la realización de la COP28 (Conferencia de las Partes número 28 en cambio climático) que se llevará a cabo del 30 de noviembre al 12 de diciembre de 2023, en Dubai, para dialogar, analizar e intercambiar conocimientos y experiencias en torno a las acciones que se deben llevar a cabo para enfrentar la emergencia climática mundial. La COP28 es el foro más importante del año en el que el mundo se reúne para acordar acciones contundentes en torno a mitigación de emisiones de CO2, adaptación, fondo para atender pérdidas y daños, y financiamiento del cambio climático.
El evento, convocado por ICM pero con la participación de diversos expertas, expertos e instituciones nacionales e internacionales, busca resaltar la importancia de que México ponga en marcha mecanismos de financiamiento e implementación de acciones en materia de mitigación de gases de efecto invernadero, financiamiento y adaptación, considerando que la COP28 será la última conferencia de este tipo en la que participará el gobierno
actual.
La agenda del primer día se concentrará en la acción climática que diversos actores realizan para enfrentar el cambio climático, tales como academia, gobiernos nacionales y subnacionales, organizaciones de la sociedad civil y organismos internacionales.
Se llevará a cabo una sesión sobre el estado de la ciencia y la colaboración científica para el combate al cambio climático, con la presencia de académicos de universidades nacionales e internacionales.
También se llevará a cabo una plenaria sobre experiencias exitosas de programas de acción climática a nivel regional, en países como Brasil, Costa Rica, Colombia y Perú, así como las iniciativas de gobiernos subnacionales, como los casos de Ciudad de México, Querétaro, Nuevo León, Guanajuato y Yucatán.
Se contará con la participación de organizaciones de la sociedad civil, instituciones de financiamiento climático nacionales e internacionales, centros de investigación, universidades y diversos actores que dotarán al evento preCOP28 de ICM de un carácter multi institucional. Además, se abordarán temas desde la visión de los sectores de transporte y electricidad, entre otros.
El evento preCOP28 cerrará con un panel en el que se hablará de la meta global de lograr emisiones netas cero, en el que participarán organizaciones de la sociedad civil y sector privado.
México debe estar preparado para una conferencia como la COP28. El tema incumbe no sólo a aquellos actores gubernamentales, del sector privado y de la sociedad civil que participarán directamente en la reunión en Dubai, sino a la sociedad en general que busca aumentar el conocimiento en el tema y realizar acciones contundentes para atender la situación climática que el planeta y México enfrentan.

Me interesa integrarme a los foros de discusión, soy experto en energía con 46 años en el sector;41 dentro de la CFE y 5 años trabajando con PEMEX.
